SSB01B bench is the first object created by sashaxsasha as a piece of collectible design. The piece is inspired by the assembled furniture made by construction workers in Russia everyday. A piece of wood, a broken tile, in other words, creation through necessity. As the next step for the new edition, sashaxsasha covers this sculpture with an unexpected material – Poplar burl veneer. With these means they contrast a randomly formed shape against the finish traditionally used for the most expensive and sophisticated joinery.
